Tim Walsh to give public talk on South Sound glacial history

Another public geological science event is set to take take place during Earth Science Week on Thursday, October 17, when Tim Walsh, Chief Hazards Geologist for DNR, will present an illustrated history talk, A Thousand Feet High: Ice Over South Puget Sound. The lecture is scheduled from noon – 12:50 p.m. (doors open at 11:30 a.m.) at Schmidt House, 330 Schmidt Place, Tumwater 98501. Walsh will show slides and talk about how glacial activity impacted the area known today as Tumwater Falls Park and South Puget Sound. Admission is free.
